Spare parts for OSMA lifts? Hauer’s got it!
When it comes to fascinating state-of-the-art lifts, one manufacturer in particular stands out – OSMA, a company that actively pursues research, has its own development department that allows it to deliver pioneering products in every conceivable area, enabling it to supply innovative solutions to a myriad of issues in the field of vertical mobility. Whether Basic, Classic or Individual, high-quality spare parts for OSMA’s extensive range of lifts are available in the Hauer elevatorshop.
More than a hundred years ago, engineer Wilhelm Adler and master locksmith Friedrich Dreier had an idea – to revolutionise the fledgling lift industry with hitherto unprecedented technological concepts. The innovative inventors founded Osnabrücker Maschinen- und Aufzugbau Adler & Dreier (OSMA) in May 1919 and it wasn’t long before their company began to reach new heights in the field.
A constant focus on vertical mobility
OSMA’s early days were anything but easy – viewed from today’s perspective, it would be considered a minor miracle that the company even survived at all as Dreier left after only three years, but Adler and his small but loyal team of staff continued to embrace challenge together.
Upon Adler’s death in 1928, the search for suitable investors began. Five years later, avid vertical mobility fan Albert Schenk took over OSMA – as a trained locksmith and mechanical engineering graduate, he perfectly embodied the expertise of the two founders. The company was hence renamed OSMA-Aufzüge Albert Schenk GmbH & Co. KG and their success story truly started to get off the ground.
To be more specific, this new owner was Albert Schenk I – he was succeeded by Albert Schenk II and then by Albert Schenk III. Today, when Jens-Albert Schenk took over the mantle, OSMA became a fourth-generation company, demonstrating the continuity that has always raised it above the rest. For all its global reach, OSMA has always remained a family business that lives by core values such as reliability and solidarity, evidenced by its commitment to a number of organisations and associations.
The company has around 650 highly professional employees across eighteen branches throughout Germany and remains at the forefront of vertical mobility development. Indeed, OSMA’s upwards of 20,000 maintenance contracts alone speak for themselves.
Sign of confidence
OSMA’s experienced maintenance experts work tirelessly to keep approximately 20,000 lift systems throughout Germany running smoothly. Whether it’s a lift for the fire brigade, a passenger lift in a new retirement home, a dumbwaiter in an ultramodern hotel, or perhaps a goods lift on commercial premises or in an industrial building, OSMA never fails to provide the right product for its customers’ needs. Indeed, all OSMA lifts also proudly bear the “Made in Germany” seal.
The Osnabrück company has long been known not only for its quality and reliability, but above all for its comprehensive range of products, which actually goes far beyond passenger and freight lifts. From the outset, attention was focused on, for example, the finer details required of a hospital bed lift or the daily strain a lift for the fire brigade might be placed under. OSMA has also already achieved a great deal regarding accessibility within public spaces and its innovations have made the company a much sought-after provider in this area.
OSMA’s multiple design options, which allow builders and architects to enjoy the maximum freedom in their work, are a cut above the rest – the company has already received awards for this, especially for their cabin designs. In 2012, their strong combination of first-class design and successful implementation of a powerful motor earned them the “red dot design award” in the product design category. Moreover, OSMA customers constantly expect successful and innovative developments where completely unique lift designs that meet their specific needs fully are concerned. Whether it’s an automatic door or a revolving door, every aspect has been carefully thought through in terms of design, right down to the door guide.
In-house innovation and development department
This high degree of individuality is due not least to OSMA’s in-house innovation and development department, which excellently showcases the company’s technical leadership – it’s no wonder their reputation is second to none, as they exceed all industry standards. The existence of this department today not only allows the company to deliver safe, high-quality lift systems that comply strictly with all regulations, it also facilitates the provision of cutting-edge solutions for the vertical mobility of the future. To this end, they engage heavily with energy-related issues in the development of every switch, every roller and every circuit board. An example of this is the retrofittable “Eco-Control” control module, developed and patented by OSMA, which simply switches off individual lift components, such as fans or cabin lights, when they are not in use.
Customised lift solutions, strictly adapted to the client’s specific needs and environment both in terms of design and technology used – this is how OSMA has secured a firm foothold in the industry and it’s no wonder they’ve managed to keep hold of it for more than a hundred years. Ultimately, if you’re planning to install a lift in a new build or as part of a renovation, you’ll not be disappointed with the state-of-the-art solutions to be found in the OSMA range. There are two things the company considers important above all else. Firstly, they can consistently ensure customers a cost-effective, user-friendly and comfortable lift system and, secondly, these customers’ demands and expectations are not just fulfilled, they are exceeded, especially in terms of technology.
Tried and tested individuality
Of course, this also applies when retrofitting lift types. It, therefore, goes without saying that OSMA testsall its own developments extensively. As a rule, all new components, materials, parts and control algorithms are tested rigorously in their own lift testing tower. Only when all endurance tests have been passed and when all expectations have been met may a lift be approved for its intended use.
Whether customers choose an OSMA lift from the Basic range, the Classic range or go for an Individual solution – i.e. a real one-off – smooth operation is guaranteed, as their lift systems consistently meet the highest of safety and quality standards. Handy, then, that spare parts for OSMA lifts can be acquired so quickly and easily. From the roller to springs, from switches to controls and hand pumps, from timing relays to hook bolts and pinions to connector cables for motorised doors – the Hauer elevatorshop stocks all the necessary components you might need for keeping your OSMA lift in tip top condition.
